Manchester School of Art Alumni Award 2020 for ‘Interlude’

“His work stood out amongst the year group for me as I found myself gravitated towards the delicacy of his compositions, Ryan’s practise has a consistent style throughout which is tasteful and demonstrated in his framing and pairings of the series.  

Ryan has shown he has an eye for looking at objects in the everyday in his own unique way which challenges documentary in a delicate way which is endearing as a viewer as it makes me double look at the images to try and work out how he has made the image. I hope Ryan continue’s to use this eye as he is developing his own language through this approach to photography. The placement and attention to detail adds a sculptural element to the work which I am really drawn to and encourage Ryan to keep shooting in this way and I can’t wait to see what is next -  A huge Congratulations!”
